Chris Squire with Henry Jackman (son of Andrew Jackman who was in The Selfs, wrote songs for The Syn and produced Fish Out of Water) and members of Spock's Beard at the Hollywood House of Blues in celebration of the 75th birthday of the Rickenbacker guitar. 27 August 2006. Recorded with a Sony T7 pocket camera from my hip, so I wouldn't attract attention. The short set included "Hold Out Your Hand / You By My Side" "Your Move" and "Roundabout"

Oct 22, 2008 - BTW, there were a few other folks with camcorders at this show, so I'm sure some alternate material will surface someday.

ProgEars2006 Says:

Oct 22, 2008 - It's ok. We all get old and I wasn't giving him grief over it, just a little perplexed at the key when Billy's version was in the right one. Of course he had Billy there to cover the high bits and didn't at this Rickenbacker Anni thing. Thanks for sharing. If it's a tad ragged I doubt it's Chris' fault anyway.

Dogapsa Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Chris and his Rick. Like bacon and eggs.

markkens Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - Heck, Squire should do bass AND lead vocals on the (cancelled) tour!Would be more "Yes" than a stand-in.

ian38018 Says:

Dec 16, 2008 - Was Andrew Jackman in The Nice? Not getting confused with Lee Jackson here?

ajw200 Says:

Dec 21, 2008 - He was actually in The Syn

YESTORMATO Says:

Jan 13, 2009 - Fantastic:)Say YES to YES

Rocketeer22 Says:

Jan 30, 2009 - Benoit David is fantastic stand in for Jon Anderson. I know the other guys are very proud of his contribution. Hey if trever Horn can front yes it's safe to say the other 4 can carry anyone. But that being said, Benoit David stands on his own merit. As for this video; just awesome. Chris is the bench mark by which great bassists will be measured. HE'S the IRREPLACEABLE ONE. And to my knowledge, there has never been a YES tour without him.

MSCearly Says:

Apr 30, 2009 - bringing the sublime into the ridiculous and making of the two one, it's Chris Squire

RICKOBEAR Says:

Jul 10, 2009 - ?????

RICKOBEAR Says:

Jul 10, 2009 - i agree with you 100% about Chris, but i think them getting a guy off YouTube(like Journey did) was just wrong and an insult to John. :( sorry, just my opinion.

RICKOBEAR Says:

Jul 10, 2009 - i just want to say i will always admire and respect this guy. :) he's responsible for me wanting to learn bass nearly 30 years ago and he's been a major inspiration to me. love you, Chris!!

gvt76 Says:

Aug 4, 2009 - Muito bom! Um mestre das 4 cordas definitivamente!

Kwinquark1 Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - Divot that I am, I accidentaly clicked the thumbs down on this; to put the record straight. Chris is without peers.

mus1cat Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - Dear Iyesmuseum, it was Lee JackSON who was in The Nice as bassist and singer. It was Andrew JackMAN who played piano and orchestrated Squire's album "Fish Out of Water".

mus1cat Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - Yes indeed, it was Lee Jackson who was in The Nice as bassist and singer. Andrew Jackman orchestrated and played piano on Squire's "Fish Out of Water" album. From my understanding Andrew and Chris knew each other from school days when they were in a choir.

yesmuseum Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - Oops. Yes, I agree. When I typed this note 3 years ago, I must've been tired! I had just listened to Emerlist DavJack by The Nice. I meant The Selfs. Thanks for setting the story straight. The same thing happened to Jon Anderson in an L.A. interview when the D.J. asked Jon about his time in The Move (which was the next guest's band - Jeff Lynne of ELO)

mus1cat Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - Actually, Fish Out Of Water is Squire's solo album not a Yes album.

mus1cat Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - Happens to the best of us. Oh, another slight notice on my part, if you will indulge me. Emerlist DavJack (or full title being "The Thoughts of......") was by the Nice from their Autumn To Spring album featuring Davy O'List on Lead Guitar...unless it was also recorded by someone else I'm not familiar with, like the Selfs you mention.

yesmuseum Says:

Sep 13, 2009 - The album I reference was "The Thoughts of Emerlist DavJack" 1973, which does include the same titled track. I actually don't have "Autumn To Spring". I'll have to get it!

mhspiper Says:

Sep 15, 2009 - Which members of Spock's Beard are present?
