Dec 17, 2009 - That's cool, the Hamel/Hamelin in the anime is actualy named after that exact famed piper.. I think... or the german composer Peter Michael Hamel. Either or. The show takes influences from varios mythologies and fairytails, that I will leave to you to figure out the rest of them.

He led the rats that were plaguing Hameln away, yes, but then the people refused to pay him, so he took their children away just like the rats, by controlling them with his flute(so you can see that it's applied well here. I like the story~ )
