Jan 30, 2009 - I did fear at the end of the film that Cassel's character (who I thought was brilliantly menacing) would really kill the baby, a part of me wants him to, to keep with the darkness and unforgiving that were really prevalent in the film, but at the same time I think that the way it ended was more realistic. We're not given enough about Cassel's character to think he is totally devoid of morality, even though he shows he mostly is.What annoyed me about the ending though is it's abruptness.

Dec 21, 2009 - I read that the script had the baby end up living with it's grandmother in Russia, but they went with the safer option of having Niomi's character adopt and get the child she never had. That might be why the ending is a little ubrupt, but the film overall was pretty damn impressive. Viggo was a standout for sure.
