Mar 6, 2010 - This Tech is so old. We are still talking about this as if it was new. lol. God, we have had these planes with this Tech for years now. Rail Guns is next in line, Once we can modify the rail guns on tanks along with Laser Tech on Tanks with gps tracking, what would be the point of even fighting against it. lol

Mar 6, 2010 - By the way, main engines of ballistic missiles work only 5 min at start, after that it fall by ballistic trajectory. So you need to shoot missile with laser during these 5 min. to blow up fuel. So this airplane must fly at enemy territory to shoot it (radius of this system is 200km). As for warheads, its impossible to heat it up to destruct, cause they are specially designed to keep hi temp. At the last part of trajectory missile become very hot. (remember SS-18 it becomes red)

Mar 7, 2010 - That's amazing if you ask me

Mar 8, 2010 - they have mach 10 ailguns in the navy see railgun navy test :) and yea railguns should replace the old m16 and sa80 respectively imagine a mach 10 round through a taliban soldier armour
mongorians22 Says:
Mar 9, 2010 - taliban dont got no fancy armour, bullets will work just as well lol
Killbadd Says:
Mar 10, 2010 - @mongorians22 Good luck shooting down a missile with bullets from 100 km away
mongorians22 Says:
Mar 10, 2010 - lol i wasnt talking about the missles (talibans dont have ICBMs either) i was talking about the taliban fighters themselves
poplglop Says:
Mar 12, 2010 - They also made one attached to an AC130 (go figure) that destroys ground vehicals. They put a retired tank in a field and blew it up!!
619lock Says:
Mar 12, 2010 - imagine if they put a railgun on the plane instead
mikemullane1 Says:
Mar 13, 2010 - dis is class

Mar 13, 2010 - cool!

Mar 13, 2010 - Wait , so the chance of nuclear devastation by ballistic missile with this is not possible?HELLO , why havent i herd of this before?
215alessio Says:
Mar 14, 2010 - why they use a 747? Couldn't they use some fighter jet? Or is it that the 747 can stay longer in the air?If it was me I would nock on the French doors to buy up they'r Concordes for this purpose, since they are the only intercontinetal mach 2+ machine that is made in significant numbers. that would be better than the 747 I guess :)
Ghostkiller5555 Says:
Mar 14, 2010 - why they use a 747 is : other planes aren't big enuf to carry the laser and its power source
dontrlycare Says:
Mar 14, 2010 - hahaaha awesome
c4corey97 Says:
Mar 15, 2010 - umm... in the description, dont u mean BAL? LOL
sasukeruler Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - @c4corey97 nah cuz it stands for Air-Borne-Laser it just happens to be made by Boeing
SamoanSpike07 Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - So what happens if u aim it at the sunoh sheet..
Dreamafter Says:
Mar 17, 2010 - @c4corey97ABL = AirBorne LaserThe "Boeings" is in reference to the manufacturer.

Mar 19, 2010 - GAME OVER RUSSIA!:)
dipo84 Says:
Mar 21, 2010 - i really dont wana know all the dynamics of this weapons, this is what i dnt get with our military. they need to keep this sh*t calssified. we dnt want the enemy working on a counter weapon that will counter this. y are we the only country that shows off technology. china doenst, all they do is laugh and bow in our faces and go and replicate our stuff or russia doesnt. but it makes me wonder if they show us all these technology i wonder what the actually keep classified and they dnt show.
limecrayola Says:
Mar 21, 2010 - cya russia
Mirfaelltnixein2 Says:
Mar 21, 2010 - And what happens if the rocket comes behind the plane?
Taipei2Tokyo Says:
Mar 5, 2010 - Mirrors reflect visible light wavelengths. The laser can be adjusted to different wavelengths and burn right through a mirror or "light reflecting layer."
