Jun 21, 2009 - My favorite units are the 82nd Airborne Division, and the 62nd Medical Brigade. The 62nd being because my dad is in that unit with the 47th CSH.
TheRakkasan101 Says:
Jul 24, 2009 - so if i join the 101st through the ROTC i can still be a paratrooper? if so, how do u become a rakkasan? lol
jmariemanney Says:
Jul 24, 2009 - everyone check out "aircraft bringer inner dude" you'll laugh your asses off its the guys of 82nd airborne 4/73 in Afghanistan.. they got bored!
supercomet32 Says:
Jul 24, 2009 - first off you dont join a unit through ROTC but lets say you do get orders to FT Campbell to be a paratrooper on jump status you first must be airborne qualified. get it either in your contract and attend right after basic or right after th ebasic officers course. then in order to become a rakkasan arive a couple days early and go visit the 3 rakkasan battalions. only 187 In battalions are rakkasans. then get a letter of acceptance and request your order from replacement prior to signing in.
supercomet32 Says:
Jul 24, 2009 - it is not a garantee that division wont have needs of you elsewhere or that they wont be on deployment when you arrive which will force you into another unit. also know that rakkasans are not on jump status but do occasionally do jumps when needed. if you wont jump status for to either lrsd or the division pathfinders. they are on jump status and do jump quiet a a bit
gtlip Says:
Aug 3, 2009 - The only units on Ft. Campbell that are airborne are 160 SOAR, and 5th Special Forces Group. I have been out for ten years but last check 187th is not on airborne status. I would fist attend Jump School at Ft. Benning then go to Ft. Bragg

Oct 13, 2009 - yea every1 does
bhusura Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - 250 meters? omg, u guys are brutal.... only 1,5-2 seconds to use the reserve in case. we have an exersise in Russia: a jump from 180m. but without any additional weights and still for maniacs only... i'd never risk like that.
Meleemaker Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - 1250 ft
